ALBANY, 17 Nov : A 25-year-old Selkirk man who was driving with a suspended license crashed into a home in the city's South End on Thursday morning, police said. Edward Bagley drove off the road near the intersection of Broad and Alexander streets and into a nearby home, said Officer James Miller, a police spokesman. Bagley and an unidentified passenger were taken to Albany Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The accident occurred at 7:38 a.m., Miller said, adding that the cause of the crash is undetermined, but that officers did not believe Bagley was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. As of 1 p.m. Thursday, the car was still wedged under the front of the house. Miller said the owner of the home was waiting for a construction crew to reinforce the home before the car was removed. Miller said Bagley has had multiple suspensions of his license and that it is currently suspended. Bagley was charged with one count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
